Blower Motors use an electric (DC) motor to circulate both warm and cool air inside your cab as well as the sleeper. The Blower Motor blows and circulates the warm air from the fins of the heater core or cools the air as it passes from the fins of the evaporator. There are a lot of different Blower Motors available on the market and knowing exactly which one you need can sometimes be difficult. Here are some things you will want to know before purchasing:
Determine the voltage - 12 or 24 volt
Measure the diameter of the shaft
1/4"
5/16"
3/8"
Number of shafts, single or doube
Rotation of motor - viewed from the shaft end
CW - Clockwise
CCW - Counterclockwise
REV- Reversible
Measure the length of the shaft
Determine Motor Diameter
Determine Overall, Motor Length, and Stud Span
Mounting Style
Stud
Strap
Flange or Plate
Number of speeds
1 Speed - 2 lead wires
2 Speeds - 2 lead wires, internally grounded
2 Speeds - 3 Lead wires, externally grounded
3 Speeds - four or five lead wires
Vented or sealed
Vented - includes air circulation holes or a tube to cool the motor
Sealed - sealed from the elements - usually used outside the cab
